Low Vision & Community Sevice

Low Vision Services help serve patients with partial loss of Sigtht. Individuals requiring these services often have congenital or acquired sight reducing conditions such as Macular Degeneration, Diabetic Retinopathy, Stroke & Glaucoma.

This allows for patients to achieve a better level of vision performance for their occupational, Vocational and Personal Needs.

Definition of low vision? by Low vision services consensus group 1999:

"A person with low vision is one who has an impairment of vision function for whom full remediation is not possible by conventional spectacles, contact lenses or medical intervention and, which causes restriction in that person's everyday life. This definition includes, but is not limited to those who are registered as blind and partially sighted"
